Why Time

Who do you listen to?

In this noisy world it is often challenging to 'tune' out the unwanted sounds. You know what that sounds like, right? Everyone you meet is bellowing at you to stop what you are doing and lean your ladder along their wall.

How do yo know what wall is worthy of your climb?

Even this BLOG can be viewed as noise (hopefully not). But I do understand your choice to simply glaze over the witty chatter. My promise to you is I am not asking you to climb any of my walls. I simply exist to help you answer the only question that matters Why do I exist?

I believe that if you truly ignite the answer to this thought-provoking question you will create your own wall.  That is my greatest wish for you. To illuminate your own way.

Everything you need is inside you waiting to be unleashed. The key is to listen with a different part of your self. The more clear you are on WHY you are here the less distracted you will be.

Igniting your deeper WHY creates new levels of clarity for who you desire to be - not what you want to 'do.' This is where most people trip themselves up. They think 'doing' is where their energy needs to flow.

Doing is essential only when it's fueled by inspired actions. It's about doing the right things...right!

The key is to listen to the things that you can't see. Your heart, soul and inner light. Once you believe that all this 'physical matter' that surrounds you cannot tell you anything about the 'real you' then you will crack open a new path that is truly worthy of the climb.

I don't know how much time you have left. What I do know is that it's brilliant and brief so let's work together on this and make the next few steps a wondrous journey.

Listen to you it's the only sound that truly matters.

Looking Forward

It's easy to stay stuck in the past. We're conditioned to [focus] on what's not working.
It takes a different kind of mental conditioning to rise above your current situation.
Here's the thing. No matter how arduous your journey may have been you are still here.

The all-knowing part of you never stopped believing in your bigger dream.  It kept you looking forward by fixating on the horizon.
Life is only a wondrous journey when we surrender to the miracle of simply being alive.

Everyone of us is meant to move forward by sharing the unique gifts that were imprinted in our cells a lifetime ago.

We all have the power to choose to release the past and the energy that has held us back from truly seeing the BIGGER PICTURE.

Today, keep looking forward. Trust in your all-knowing self to light the way. You will be amazed with what you see.

What if?

What if?

It was a Saturday, the kind of day that you felt as if sun existed solely for you.

As I marvelled at the light glistening on the side of my love's face I smiled at the wondrous beauty of my life.

I lovingly watched her glide along the aisles as if she was God's response to my quest for love.

It got me thinking about the life I chose to leap into.

Years ago I seeded a thought that started with two delicious words: What if?

That's the power behind seeds. In your hands you possess the ultimate growth. I chose to plant my seeds of love and nurtured them with inspiration, action and belief.

Shortly after, the universe brought me an unassuming angel. He was wise, old and persistent. He passionately guided me to a haven near the water and encouraged me to take action and connect with the owner.

Little did I know that these seeds of love would connect years later and spawn the deepest connection to my life. That's the love story of my greatest angel that I call my love, Angela Kontgen.

What if you believed you were deserving of a deeper love?

What if you took action today with no expectation and an open heart?

What if you responded solely to the whispers from your higher self. Those are called: Inspired Actions.

What if that one step today would change everything tomorrow?

Line 150

For the past 4 weeks that phrase "Line 150" has been ringing in my ears. It invokes a deep sense of noise.  I've come to appreciate the definition of "noise" as being unwanted sound.

Not too long ago my life partner Angela and I made a conscious choice to simplify all aspects of our lives.

I'm not referring to simply decluttering your home with a garage sale. I'm talking about developing the capacity to savour less.

Less pursuits.
Less distraction.
Less debt.
Less accumulation.
Less.... But a better life!

Here's the thing about "less." Institutions don't like that word. See for years Angela and I were like most unconscious people chasing the mighty dollar and a 6 figure income to support the not so less mortgage.

Well what we've come to appreciate over the last several years is that way of being doesn't serve our higher selves nor does it lead to greater fulfillment.

So we choose to take less. Pay less tax and live large. Recently we sold our home and decided to downsize to a lovely 950 square foot condo by the water.

Less mortgage.
Less utilities.
Less maintenance.
Less... But better.

Our intention is a smaller mortgage and more cash to experience the things we love. Travel, writing and inspiring others.  Ultimately, no mortgage.

As we approached various "institutions" to assist us with our "Less but More" plan we've been treated more like a number than a human being.

Instead of these "institutions" actually having a conversation with us they only care about one thing: "Line 150." That's the income you reported in your tax return statement.

It's funny in this connection age that we simply choose not to connect.

Even after numerous attempts at sharing our blissful and wondrous transition to a life of simplicity the person on the other side of the key board only cares about one thing..."Line 150."

I've come to appreciate the control of this system we've all help to create. It's not serving our higher purpose.

We are human beings that have been given the gift of possibility through contribution.

When we choose to evaluate a fellow human being based solely on income we fail in our pursuit to elevate the human race.

We are more that "Line 150."  We are beings of light and pure potential. We have not been given this gift of life to simply pay the bills and accumulate a world of debt.

We are here to reach out and help one another answer the only fucking question that truly matters...WHY am I here?

I think it's time to replace "Line 150."

Under the Influence

It's a rainy Tuesday yet for me the light is burning brighter than ever. I love Tuesdays!

I just sent my 15th book to the press this afternoon. It's my second autobiography called: INFLUENCE.

I decided to celebrate by watching the new Wonder Woman flick for the second time. It's how I feel about the 11 Women featured in my new book. They have honoured me with the gift of telling their story.

In the later part of 2016 my 16 year old daughter was undergoing chemotherapy and fighting Stage 3 Cancer. As I sat next to her for months I was editing my first autobiography titled: BIG DREAMERS.

I've been deeply drawn to inspiring autobiographies. I just can't seem to get enough. I don't think we have to wait until we're famous or dead to have someone publish our life story. There is a super hero living inside each one of us waiting to soar into the skies.

As an author and novelist I've come to the realization that we all have a story inside and when we share it the world is aware of our deeper existence.

Witnessing my daughter's courage this past year reminded me that life is so brilliant but so brief! We live as if we have all the time in the world to define our lives when the truth of the matter is we don't!

INFLUENCE represents a significant milestone in my life. Around 2007, I had a powerful intention to exist as an inspiration to others.

Even though I had left the field of architecture to create my own branding and marketing company in 1999, I was compelled to create a meaningful legacy of inspiring people and their ideas to action.

Well 15 books later (actually 16 as my first novel: Remembering Why hits the shelves next month) I am living the intention that I set out years ago.

As I reflect back on this journey I feel as if my all-knowing future self was pulling me out of the darkness and into my true light.

I first conceived the INFLUENCE project over 3 years ago but like a great bottle of red wine it needed the right amount of time before being uncorked.

The 11 Women that I attracted into this wondrous undertaking allowed me to take them on an inspiring journey of influence. It's their passion that truly rocks this book.

So as I prepare to sit back and enjoy Gal Gadot's stellar performace as Wonder Woman yet again, I'm in awe of the 'Wonder' of my life.

Thank you for dreaming big with me and thank you for being an influence in my inspiring life.
