Red Tip – Become what you Seek

I love the power of a question to drive the goals that we seek in life. Have you ever contemplated the following question: What do I want to attract into my life? Apply this question to all areas of your life: relationships, business and personal development. Upon contemplating this question I recommend living it for the next 30 days by becoming the very thing that you seek.

If your goal is to attract more love into your life, then be the love that you wish to receive. If you’re personal development goal is to become a speaker then be inspiring and motivating. The key to becoming ‘what you seek’ is to become highly intentional by [fixating] on the picture of what you wish to create. Only you can see it, feel it and more importantly ‘be it’. This afternoon, I encourage you to take action and write down the question on a blank sheet of paper: What do I want to attract by the end of 2012? Under the question, write a series of NEW affirmations and post them on your bathroom wall to help you live it for the next 30 days. These affirmations should start with three words: ‘I am being…’ followed by what you seek.

In 2009, I created a goal of seeking greater ‘love and inspiration in my life.’ What showed up for me after taking inspired action is the publishing of 6 books, the inspiration of over 100,000 people world-wide and the attraction of the deepest love that I have ever experienced. This is your time and your life so be what you want most, you know it’s in you to receive.

I was recently contacted by a series of stellar organizations and asked to inspire in Chicago, Edmonton, Niagara and Ottawa at the start of 2013. What was the deciding factor for their selection? Each one responded with a similar response: ‘Gerry, we have a strong desire to inspire our audiences to think different about their personal brands.’ My tip for you: Continually strive to extract the essence of what makes you truly unique. Recognize that your brand is what they say it is that matters. Here is a great little exercise, email five of your closest friends and/or colleagues right now and ask them to share with you what they perceive to be your top attributes. What are you recognized for? How do you want to be perceived? What is your brand essence? To thrive in today’s marketplace means you need to go well beyond the point of differentiation. A new creative mindset is required to create a meaningful experience that has your clients and customers wanting a piece of you. The key is to declare to the world right now, this very moment that you are no longer interested in playing small and you are ready to play at a new altitude. That means everything you do has to be taken to a new level of inspiration, your events, your approach, your message, your style, everything. Why you ask? Quite simply, your competition is doing it and they are striving to deliver an experience that will connect with the hearts of your customer.

There are over 50,000 speakers world-wide so anytime that I attract these amazing opportunities I am extremely grateful and strive to raise the level of my game. Uncovering the [real you] means going deeper and living some really big questions. You can’t stop there, you then need to get people excited and engaged with your ‘why’ by leaning forward, stepping in and declaring your intention. You need to get a bit uncomfortable with the uncomfortable, more importantly, you need to get fired up with enthusiasm. Here is the thing, if you’re not excited about your personal brand and what you stand for, how can you expect others to be!
